Eating Healthy Can Be Easy – Splendid Spoon Review

I try to eat healthy as much as I can, but when I eat something junky it’s usually because of time. I had the opportunity to try Splendid Spoon for the first time recently and am so pleased with the ingredients, taste, and convenience. I wanted to share a quick review with you in case you are looking to reset your eating but need a little help!

Disclaimer: The food for this review was provided by Splendid Spoon, but the thoughts and opinions are my own.

What is Splendid Spoon?

Splendid Spoon offers ready-to-eat, nourishing, plant-based smoothies, soups, grain bowls, noodles and shots. The plans are designed to create healthy routines for every meal so you can reach your health goals. Each meal contains fresh plant-based, gluten-free and GMO-free ingredients, and all clean ingredients.

None of the meals take more than 4 minutes to heat up! All the meals arrive ready-made, and the smoothies and shots are ready on the spot.

What plan is best for me?

Splendid Spoon offers multiple plans:

Breakfast, Lunch, Breakfast + Lunch, Breakfast + Lunch + Reset, Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner + Reset, or an on-demand box with your favorites and no commitment.

What’s a reset day? You will be sent 5 soups to eat on one day of the week to reset your digestive system. You can also just do a reset meal, which is my favorite thing to do on a Monday after a weekend of takeout eating. My personal favorite is the Butternut Turmeric Soup. The Cauliflower Potato Chowder is also delicious and creamy.

How does it work?

You can choose from over 50 meals each week, and edit them in your account. You can also note ingredients that you’d like to avoid in future orders.

The box comes delivered to your door on your choice of Wednesdays or Fridays, and shipping is always FREE. You can always skip a delivery and choose when you want to receive the next box, or cancel at any time if you aren’t satisfied.

First impressions:

  • The food arrived fresh and frozen!
  • The portions seemed small but once I heated up a meal, it was actually too much for me to finish!
  • Ingredients are easy to read and understand.
  • The meal packages are very compact and easy to store in your freezer without taking up much space.

What I liked:

I personally loved the Pumpkin Spice Smoothie, Strawberry Chocolate Smoothie, and Cacao Almond Smoothie. I would love to try all the smoothies eventually because they sound delicious! I like that the smoothies are already blended and ready to go. They just need thawing and shaking.

I also really liked the Vegan Meatballs & Marinara Noodles bowl. The vegan meatballs were delicious!

I also found the shots to be interesting and a quick way to get vitamins in your body.

Things I didn’t like:

Each meal/smoothie/shot is in a number 5 plastic container that I am unable to recycle where I live, so that’s unfortunate.

Is it worth the price?

I can’t speak to your budget and whether or not something is “expensive,” but Splendid Spoon is on the higher end of cost for a food delivery service. So, do I think the prices are worth it when it comes to quality of ingredients and taste for someone who is trying to eat more healthy? Yes. Do I think it’s worth it if you can’t necessarily afford it? No.

It’s totally up to you and your budget, and also if you need the convenience!
